Beach Access North East

Freedom to roam our beautiful beaches

"Yes!!!!! got onto the beach as a family at last! Made our holiday!"
- Missy Luntley

BANE promotes social inclusion, independence and choice for disabled & elderly people across the North East of England.

We provide FREE loan of specialised equipment at beaches across our region.

We currently operate at several beaches throughout the North East, with more new beaches coming soon. Check out our Locations pages for the latest list.

And don't forget to look through our Gallery to see all the great places where you and your family can have a great day out on the beach.

How to book beach equipment

To book equipment at any of our locations you first need to join as a member, which you can do on our Join Us page. There's no charge for this and we won't spam you.

If you're already a member please call us on 0300 999 4444 to book your equipment, giving us at least 24 hours' notice so that we can be sure to have the equipment available for you.  If you are unable to call, please send an email to info@beachaccessnortheast.org.

Note that we cannot guarantee the availability of a particular piece of equipment so please wait for confirmation before making your plans for the day.

Equipment

We have a variety of beach wheelchairs, carriages, hoists and turntables, all available for free hire so that you, your friends and your family can have a great day out at the beach.
